Frank passed away seventeen years ago but it does not seem like it has been that long. On Veteran’s Day we remember those who fought for our freedoms. Frank would say he was just doing his job; but his story shows that he was put in particularly challenging situations and always figured out the most human solution which espoused honesty and integrity for both him and his fellow soldiers. It is interesting to speculate on “what really happened” because his story was written for his beloved grandchildren who were in grade school at the time he committed it to paper. When asked “what really happened”, he would laugh and fall back on his stock answer “You’re too young.” Let us remember our veterans!
